Powerful
together

A strong spirit of cohesion

The entire Artifex team considers itself a family. We laugh together, share silence, sometimes we even get into heated discussions and don’t mince our words. And yet, or maybe exactly because of this, we share a uniting trust that runs very deep. This sense of companionship has been an integral part of Tina Marcelli's life ever since she was a child. It was therefore a matter of course that her team should also feel this sense of togetherness. An atmosphere in which people support each other and grow together.

An approach that clearly stands out, especially in an industry that is still very much male-dominated. So it is no coincidence that the team, except for sommelier Alessio, is entirely female.

Tina Marcelli

A gentle character of an incredibly strong presence - that's head chef Tina Marcelli. While other children spent their afternoons in the forest or on playgrounds, Tina hang out in a place that even until today is the most beautiful to her: her grandmother’s kitchen. It was also her grandmother who conveyed to her the respect for traditions and ingredients, a respect that now characterises her cuisine at the Artifex. The craftsmanship and love of perfection and precision, on the other hand, came from her dad, himself a chef. Family is the driving force for Tina. Whether it's her family of origin or her team – after all, a close cohesion makes everything possible.

One team with one mission

From the very beginning, Tina has worked with her main team, which she considers a second family. The entire staff of the Artifex works shoulder to shoulder to create the ultimate experience for our guests.

Sandra Kofler
Sous-chef & Chef de Patisserie

Sandra and Tina have known each other for well over a decade now and work very closely with each other. Sandra loves reviving traditional dishes, such as apple strudel, by adding a modern twist. Time and again she also stops thinking about the sweet and assists with the savoury flavours. Outside the kitchen, she can usually be found swimming, hiking, cross-country skiing or tobogganing - as long as she can spend time in nature.

Maia Villgratter
Demi-chef de Partie

Maia, Tina and Kim have known each other since their days at the Hotel Moser. Ever since the junior chef from the locality of Gummer/San Valentino in Campo (South Tyrol) has never left their side. She loves creating new and innovative dishes that conjure up a smile on our guests' faces. Hiking and skiing in the surrounding landscape provide her with a recreational break.

Alessio Scholl
Sommelier & Restaurant Manager

The native Austrian has already been honoured as a qualified sommelier at young age. He is always out and about scouting wine trends all over the country and looking for new, exciting wines that pair excellently with the Artifex menu. If you ask him about his favourite wine, he pauses for a moment but can't answer with absolute certainty. It varies all the time and depends very much on the moment, the person and, above all, the dish itself.

Kim Marcelli
Sous-chef

Having actually been trained as an office administrator, Kim Marcelli was quickly drawn to the world of gastronomy. She first worked as a waitress, but was soon offered the opportunity to join the kitchen team. And this is where her true passion resides, which she practices every day with devotion and enthusiasm. As photography is her secondary passion, she spends her spare time behind the camera. In fact, many of the photos displaying the dishes served at the Artifex were taken by her. At weekends, she enjoys expressing her creativity crafting candles, embroidering or sewing.

Angela Martinelli
Pastry chef

In charge of everything related to yeast, Angela is lovingly referred to as the "bread woman". She comes from a family of farmers in the beautiful region of Tuscany, which is why she feels so at home here in the valley and, above all, with Tina's kitchen philosophy. After starting out as a waitress, she soon discovered her fascination for the culinary arts and whirls from one job to the other - she never stands still, not even in her spare time. Be it running, cycling or hiking, keeping herself active is essential to her.

Ronja Eschgfäller
Demi-chef de Partie

Ronja joined the Artifex team through Maia. After graduating from hotel management school, Ronja, who is originally from the Sarntal valley, took on responsibility for broths and fish in Tina's kitchen. She enjoys coming up with new ideas, loves that creativity is highly sought after and is constantly striving to learn more and more. The mountains are her favourite destination for leisure activities, whether it's mountaineering or ski touring.
